Why is it called Origin-Light and Colour?
In Origin-Light and Colour, life is the subject of Nieto’s work. Capturing is the essence of her artistic quest. One may enjoy the rich and forceful whites, while another perceives the amazing balance between the technical progress of changing colours from their original form, into a world of colour, episodes, cosmos, remote sub-realistic landscapes and textures. The impact of the dark and deep night that generates a shudder in the observer, immediately gratified by waves of colour that are presented in front of his eyes; a singular world, Nieto holds that appreciating a work of art requires and engagement and effort of the viewer. It is contemplative in a typical Latin American way, going beyond what is immediately visible.

Why is her work on the cutting edge of contemporary art?
After years of investigating new techniques Nieto began to discover and explore the possibilities of using the spectrum of UV light. She had also introduced new contemporary mediums transcending the suggested three dimensional of Jackson Pollock, Lucio Fontana and Rothko. In her paintings she added new techno elements. Suddenly, the impact of light explodes into the observer’s mind. The experience is a sudden life creative moment on it’s own for each individual. “I use visions, textures and images that are captured by the light and in one abrupt unexpected moment are reflected and transformed from their original form, into a complete different composition. The experience is a sudden life creative moment on it’s own for each individual…”

What other media bring Origin-Light and Colours to life?
The characteristics represented here in this project Origin-Light and Colours, summarized and interesting proposal. This light represented by the artist, uses technical means such as, White light-Black light, as ways to stimulate the observation of the painting in two ways; the spectrum of visible light-day light or white light – the spectrum of invisible light – black light. This adds the usage of emptiness of – space – by the perpetual flow of sound waves, the movements with flash effects of a stroboscope alternating videos.
